In October some of the team at Microtech Group attended the luxurious Ayrshire Business Awards Event hosted by the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce.
The Group were nominated and short listed for 2 awards which included, Innovation of the Year Award for our innovative approach to Telehealth Solutions and Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Entrepreneurial skillset and knowledge continually driven by the Group MD Chris McMail.
The Innovation in Business award was presented to Microtech Group as we successfully developed innovative products and technologies. We show a high degree of creativity and dynamism and explore ways to exploit our innovation to its fullest potential. This award celebrates the ideas that have had the greatest impact on our business.
We offered evidence of how the innovation has been developed and applied to improve its commercial performance and operational effectiveness. Through introducing this innovation we were able to show that our business has substantially improved in areas of performance and commercial success. To achieve this award we had to demonstrate an innovation or innovative approach that has:
- Created competitive advantage
- Contributed to significant growth
- Transformed the organisation
- Improved overall financial performance
- Achieved operational excellence
- Embedded sustainable practices
- Helped staff deliver better customer service
- Increased market share or customer loyalty
Winning this award has offered Microtech Group the privileged opportunity to offer an award winning product to the health care industry. This state of the art healthcare solution allows vital sign data to be sent from a patient remotely to a clinician who will case manage the patient. The clinician's objective is to deliver clinical interventions that ensure the reduction of GP practice visits, GP Home visits, hospital admissions and subsequent admissions.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award aimed to celebrate the outstanding individual who demonstrates incomparable vision and leadership qualities within a pioneering business. Chris was able to provide evidence of the innovative strategies implemented to consistently drive the growth curve and the leadership values that underpin Microtech Group.
With a hunger for success, Chris created his business over thirty years ago as a small I.T firm with impressive goals and a marketable skill set. Over time, he picked up expertise and industry knowledge enabling him to transform it into the sizable business it is today. With combined awareness and experience of both people and the industry: he has combined the best of both to lead his venture through the innovations and competitive environment it's conquered.
Through championing the team and continually learning about industry developments, he's been able to reflect and adapt his business strategies in order to remain an industry leader and keep Microtech Group a fast paced and highly competitive market player.
Having gained immense traction in his entrepreneurial venture, Microtech was originally formed to penetrate the Health I.T sector and Chris has consistently developed the service offering ensuring we're leaders within this competitive market place whilst maintaining a consistent turnover and profitability. The success of the organisation has evolved offering services from infrastructure to aftersales.
This measures considerably against set objectives as we're now recognised by our peers as one of the leading providers of I.T Support within Health in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Through effective growth management, the expansion of the organisation has led to consistent investment in support facilities and staff.
Chris and his team at Microtech Group are thrilled to have gained such an accolade and look forward to maintaining their success in the coming years.
